INVENTION

The invention associated with my project is providing automated shade in an architecturally tasteful way, through fabrication, using inexpensive and accessible materials.

INCOME

If my project has significant open source interest, i would proceed in establishing a company to market, fabricate and sell my idea. Income can be generated initially by donation and eventually on a pricing structure that balances market conditions and social implications.

COMPANY:

My company would be a limited liability company, to minimize my personal risk and have capacity for growth. This would also allow for the possibility of establishing an open source network for further developing this or other similar ideas

FUNDING:

Initially this idea can be promoted through international or national inovation competitions, while concurrently funding through government and private industry acceleration and incubation programs. Alternatively, funding options through crowd sourcing can be investigated.

WHAT I LEARNED:

What I have learned is that having a good idea is not enough. There are a million things that have to occur to bring a project from the mind to reality, not even considering marketing or selling. On the other hand, I learned most of what is needed to develop an idea into a (mostly) functioning prototype. Even for the portions that do not work properly, I learned to recognize what the problems may be and how to solve them. Finally, I learned how to make almost anything with my own personal effort.
